Senior Software Engineering Manager

TechHeads is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager for an onsite Contract position for an initial 6 month assignment (rolling for 2 years). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design, development, testing and deployment of our Client’s software applications.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for all stages of the SDLC and for ensuring all processes are as efficient and performant as possible. You will liaise across Technical leadership and stakeholders across business units to ensure alignment of priorities, budgets and deliveries.  As a senior tech member of staff, you will be responsible for the delivery of robust, modern solutions to the highest standards within tight timeframes.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the application Product Owners to align resources and priorities
• Work closely with the Senior Technical Architects to ensure the highest standard of development designs are applied
• Act as the quality gate on all Releases
• You will lead the prioritisation & implementation of all application delivery to meet business and client services levels
• You will drive a culture of constant improvement, ensuring best-practices and industry standards are adopted in all phases of the SDLC
• Standardise development and deployment practices across all applications.
• You will manage the interface between Business Applications, IT Stakeholders, Infrastructure teams and business units to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
• You will develop & maintain excellent relationships with clients & internal and external suppliers and service providers to maintain cost-effective service levels.
• You will closely support a well-designed and robust IT Infrastructure to support the business application needs.
• Reporting on operational KPIs and SLAs covering all aspects of Software Development
• Maintain and manage a knowledge base & document stores to capture key learnings.
• Align closely with the CTO, Head of Infrastructure, Head of IT Operations working to support all aspects of infrastructure design, changes, development, implementation, and support
• Strong awareness of building software in a high compliance environment, including factoring in SOX, DORA, GDPR requirements in process and development
• Close working with PMO function to coordinate and schedule programmes of work, prioritisation and sequencing
• You will develop, maintain and present an annual IT Software Delivery Strategy to senior stakeholders

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience managing IT Development and QA Teams Systems in a large-scale hybrid (on-prem, Cloud), fast paced environment in a sector with strong compliance and regulatory oversight.
• Experience managing an IT Change Program with a focus on quality, efficiency and cost-reduction
• Strong experience of managing across multiple disciplines within a large IT department, balancing resources and ensuring resource and skillset alignment.
• Previous experience delivering Automation initiatives within an established SDLC
• Experience of migrating on-prem Services and Applications to Azure cloud
• Strong experience of Release and Deployment management
• Strong experience of Program management and reporting to C-level stakeholders.
• Professionally presented with excellent customer-facing skills, and the ability to build and maintain working relationships with customers at all levels.
