Senior Project Manager (AI/Automation)

TechHeads is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of AI and automation initiatives within a highly regulated environment. The role spans business process automation, non‑generative AI, and selective GenAI enablement, delivered in a risk‑aware, human‑in‑the‑loop model aligned regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Own delivery of AI automation projects from initiation through go‑live and benefits realisation, aligned to the client’s AI Automation roadmap.
• Define project scope, success metrics, milestones, and dependencies across business, technology, and vendor workstreams.
• Manage delivery across multiple platforms including Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, Microsoft AI technology, and legacy integrations.
• Ensure solutions transition cleanly into BAU support and run teams, with appropriate documentation and handover.
• Ensure AI solutions comply with EU AI Act principles, GDPR, DPIA outcomes, and client governance controls.
• Maintain AI usage documentation and approvals for each use case.
• Act as primary delivery interface between internal business/IT teams and third‑party vendors (e.g. system integrators).
• Chair project governance forums, steering updates, and delivery checkpoints.
• Manage vendor performance, deliverables, dependencies, and commercials.
• Partner with operations and customer teams to identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, improve SLAs, and enhance customer experience.
• Translate business processes into automation‑ready designs, ensuring controls, exception handling, and accessibility requirements are embedded.
• Provide clear, executive‑ready reporting on progress, risks, issues, and realised value.
• Support post‑implementation reviews and lessons‑learned activities to feed future AI automation initiatives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience delivering complex digital, automation, or AI‑enabled projects in regulated environments.
• Strong command of project management disciplines (planning, RAID, dependencies, governance, benefits tracking).
• Experience managing multi‑vendor and matrix teams.
• Practical understanding of:
  • Non‑generative AI and rules‑based automation
  • Document processing and workflow automation
  • Selective use of GenAI for enablement (e.g. training, productivity)
• Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as:
  • Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, API‑based integration
  • Microsoft AI platforms (e.g. AI Builder, Document intelligence)
• Understanding of how automation integrates with legacy systems and operational processes.
• Experience working within financial services, public sector, or highly regulated environments.
